New Lenox voters help elect local leaders
|
November 11, 2008 Out of 373,847 registered voters in Will County, 74.7 percent — 279,279 people — cast their ballots in the Tuesday, Nov. 4 election to choose not only their state and national leaders, but local and county leaders as well.
State Representative Renee Kosel (65 percent) and Will County Board Member Tom Weigel (21 percent), both New Lenox Republicans, were reelected to their respective positions. Fellow New Lenox resident Judy DeVriendt, who ran for Will County State's Attorney, was defeated by incumbent Democrat Jim Glasgow (62 percent).
